The 'Prathishta Dinam' of Sree Mahaganapathy Temple, Koovappady was celebrated on 4th and 5th May 2012. Ganapathy Laksharchana - chanting Ganapathy Sahasranamam, a rare event was conducted by 25 eminent priests lead by Thrikkur Vaidyanatha Sastrigal. Large number of devotees attended the function on both days. A get-together of local people and Koovapadians settled elsewhere outside Koovappady was arranged on 4th May 2012. Cultural programmes like music concert and dance by little children was also arranged on the occasion.
