The Brahim Community is blessed with rich cultural heritage which have been acquired centuries ago should be preserved, said N. R. Parameswaran, Central Zone Secretary of Kerala Brahmana Sabha. He was inaugurating the 2nd Family Meet of the Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Ernakulam City Unit being held at the Vinayaka Kalyanamandapam, Kadavanthara on Sunday, 22nd April 2012. He apprised the community members to take part in the welfare of the community by upholding the values of the olden times and advantages of the new era.
J. Subramony, President, Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Ernakulam City Unit presided over the meeting. Dr. P. S. Raman (State Vice President, Kerala Brahmana Sabha) appreciated the efforts made in conducting the Family Meet by the City Unit and advised other Upasabhas to follow suit. Former Justice P. R. Raman, CA. A. Gopalakrishnan, Lava (well known builder), P. S. Sharma (Management Consultant), T. K. Narayanaswamy (Secretary, Ernakulam Gramajana Samooham) were among the others who participated in the meet. Baby Shankar (Secretary, Vanitha Vibhagam, Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Ernakulam City Unit) gave an account of the activities of the Vanitha Vibhagam. M. Vanchiswaran (Secretary, Kerala Brahmaan Sabha, Ernakulam City Unit and State Committee Member) welcomed the gathering and R. Ananthanarayanan, Vice President said the vote of thanks.
The members urged the office bearers to take up a few projects and complete the same in a time bound manner, to make use of the wisdom and intelligence of the Brahmin community for the reconstruction of the nation. It was also suggested that the Sabha must create a platform to share experience and exposure of the senior members with the new generation. Around 150 members participated in the meet. Light refreshment also was arranged after the meet.
