New generation should learn Sanskrit, the glorious language - Dr. Seshadrinatha Sasthrikal

Prof. Dr. K. V. Seshadrinatha Sasthrikal on his discourse at Rugmini Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam, Thripunithura

A discourse by Prof. Dr. K. V. Seshadrinatha Sasthrikal, Chennai was held at Rugmini Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam, Thripunithura on Sunday, 15th April 2012. The one-day programme on the subject 'Brahmin Women and Rituals' was organised by the Central Zone of Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Vanitha Vibhagam.

Seshadrinatha Sasthrikal addressed the subject purely based on Sanathana Dharma. He said Sanathana Dharma is the soul of Indian culture and every Indian will have an inheritance of this Sanathana Dharma. It teaches a lifestyle that is tailored for the well being of mankind; but not for self. Grihasthasramam is the first step of Dharmanustanam. Naturally women are given a respectful position in the Sanathana Dharma. Only a soulful companion of husband and wife are allowed to reap the benefits of practicing Sanathana Dharma. He said the Sanathana Dharma is so perfectly blended to have 'Arogya Sugham' and 'Indriya Sukham' which you will not find anywhere in the World.

Learning Sanskrit was a practice of our community members in early days. In between we droped learning the glorious language, which is much closer to that of Malayalam. It is every parent's duty to promote learning Sanskrit so that he can understand the meaning of the Manthras when one chat it; Dr. Sasthrikal said.
