The Aluva Brahmana Samooham organised a 'Lecture' by Dr. N. Gopalakrishnan, Hon. Director, Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage at Samooham Bhajana Madam on 25th April 2010 at 10 a.m. R. Bhaskaran, Priest of Ganapathy Temple, chanted the prayer and S.Venkatesh, Secretary welcomed the gathering. H. Narayana Iyer, President of the Samooham, in his presidential address, mentioned Dr. Gopalakrishnan's last visit to Aluva in the year 2000. A calendar of Religious Festivals for the year 2010-11 (Vikruthi Nama Samvatsaram/Kolla Varsham 01.09.1185 to 01.09.1186) was released by Dr. N. Gopalakrishnan on the occasion by handing over the copies to P. R. Srinivasan, Rtd. General Manager, FACT.
Dr. Gopalakrishnan shared his thoughts with the audience for 2 hours touching many subjects like 'acharam' and 'dura-achararam', the effect of Manthras, need to perform pithru karmas, how to chant manthras and its effect, how to lead a peaceful life etc. C. G. Subramanian delivered the vote of thanks.
