Co-ordination Committee for Brahmin Organisations at Perumbavoor

A combined meeting of Brahmin organisations - Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Yogakshema Sabha, Malayala Brahmana Samajam, Gowdha Saraswatha Brahmana Sabha, Madhva Brahmana Sabha - at Perumbavoor has decided to join hands together to act against the disregard and challenges faced by the communities in various phases of life. The meeting was held at Perumbavoor Brahmana Samooham Kalyana Mandapam on Friday, 18th of March 2011, presided by H. Ramanathan, President of Vadarkutti Brahmana Samooham. Adv. N. Anilkumar, State President of Malayala Brahmana Samajam inaugurated the meeting. "Various Brahmin sects who stands for the well being of entire mankind is being sidelined, we must act against this" -said Adv. N. Anilkumar.

N. Ranganathan (State Committee Member, Kerala Brahmana Sabha), Prof. J. Panduranga Pai (President, Gowdha Saraswatha Brahmana Sabha, Perumbavoor), P. Purushothaman Namboothiri (President, Yogakshema Sabha, Kunnathunadu Thaluk), N. Ramachandran (President, Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Perumbavoor) and N. D. Vasudevan Ilayath (Secretary, Malayala Brahmana Samajam, Perumbavoor) addressed the meeting.

This is a welcome development--unity among the various Brahmana communities. Although I am not a Brahmana, I respect enormously the contributions made by the Vaidika Janata to Keraleeya culture and social system. I hope your organization willl publish a large historical survey of the contributions of the Vaidika Janata (a more universal synonym for the word Brahmana) in Kerala for the last two or so millenia.
