Renovation of Sree Rama Bhajana Madom, Perumbavoor inaugurated

The renovation project of Sree Rama Bhajana Madom at Perumbavoor was inaugurated by Dr. V. Ramalingam, State President of Kerala Brahmana Sabha on Monday, the 20th of February 2012 at Samooham Mandapom. He received a cheque for Rs. 1,00,000/- from S. R. Krishnan, ex-President of Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Perumbavoor Upasabha.The meeting was presided by H. Ramanathan, President of Vadarkutti Samooham. Inaugurating the fund collection of the renovation project, Dr. Ramalingam said that the Tamil Brahmin community of Perumbavoor were in the fore front in the political-social-cultural segments of the town for many years. They lived with the motto 'Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu' which proclaims the well being of all beings. S. N. Swami, famous screenplay writer released the brochure on the occasion. The Samooha Madoms which carry the cultural heritage of our community members in Kerala are to be preserved, as they were the centers of creative thoughts for more than 200 years, he said.

The inaugural meeting commenced with 'Veda Ghosham' lead by Nageswara Vadhyar, the Samooham priest. The Nilavilakku was lighted by Adv. R. Harihara Iyer, A. N. Hariharan (both former Presidents of Vadarkutti Samooham), K. Krishna Iyer (Secretary, Vadarkutti Samooham), C. S. Yagneswaran (Treasurer, Vadarkutti Samooham), N. Ranganathan (State Committee Member, Kerala Brahmana Sabha) and Kamala Hariharan (Convenor, Narayaneeyam Seva Samithy). N. Ramachandran, President of Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Perumbavoor Upasabha briefed the 200 year history of Sree Rama Bhajana Madom. N. Hariharasubramania Iyer (Vice President, Vadarkutti Samooham) welcomed the gathering and N. Ramaswami said vote of thanks.

2-Day Orientation Camp to begin on 11th February 2012

The Yuvajana Vibhagam of Kerala Brahmana Sabha is organising a two-day orientation camp at Chinmaya International Foundation at Piravom, Ernakulam on 11th and 12th of February 2012. The two-day camp is named 'Nirvaha 2012' which will be attended by the state committee members of Yuvajana Vibhagam. Dr. P. S. Raman, State Vice President will inaugurate Nirvaha 2012 on 11th of February at 4.30 p.m. P. Ananthasubramaniam, State General Secretary will grace the occasion with his presence. Niravaha 2012 is an initiative to understand the organisation more precisely, said C. G. Kiran, State President of Yuvajana Vibhagam. N. R. Parameswaran, R. Suresh, Mohandas S. (State Joint Secretaries), G. Mony (District President, Alapuzha), H. Ramanathan (District President, Kottayam), D. Murthy (District Secretary, Thrissur) and T. S. Viswanatha Iyer (State Committee Member) will handle sessions on various topics. 50 participants from all districts of Kerala will attend the camp. H. Vancheeswaran and Sreehari Venkitachalam will attend the camp representing Ernakulam District.

Swami Jayendra Saraswathy was given a reception at Gramajana Samooham Hall on Wednesday, 8th February 2012 by Ernakulam Gramajana Samooham and Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Ernakulam City Unit in association with other organisations. He was given a ceremonial welcome with Poornakumbham at Durbar Hall Ground by the officials of Gramajana Samooham and Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Ernakulam City Unit with other organisations. In his speech at Samooham, he said one should practice a lifestyle that is based on spirituality. Adv. A. K. Seshadri (President, Gramajana Samooham), T. K. Narayanaswami (Secretary, Gramajana Samooham), J. Subramaniam (President, Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Ernakulam City Unit, P. K. Chandran, K. K.
