The Onam Trade Fair organised by Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Ernakulam City Unit was inaugurated by Honourable Justice T. R. Ramcahdnran Nair on Wednesday, the 11th of August 2010. The first sale was accepted by L. Sivanandan, of Maharaja Textiles, Ernakulam.

With an objective to find out market for the typical Brahmin food items, the Kerala Brahmana Sabha, Ernakulam City Unit is organizing every year a Trade Fair in connection with the festival Onam. The traditional food items available here, like Kondattams, Thamaravalayam, Sweet Boli, Murukku, Cheedai, Poruvilankai, Thattai, Kadumangai and all types of pickles, chips etc. are prepared by the Brahmins. The amount collected through this Onam Trade Fair will be used for uplifting the poor Brahmin families. Arrangements are also made to distribute Palada Pradhaman and Pazha Pradhaman on the days of Uthradam and Thiruvonam. The stall is equipped in front of Gramajana Samooham Hall, Near Siva Temple at Ernakulam and functions from 4.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. on working days and from 9.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on holidays.
