Thrikketta Purappadu falls on the 4th day of Vrischikotsavam in which the Nettippattam-Muthukkuda decorated elephants carry the Lord's Golden idol (Thidambu) and assemble in the ‘Ana Kottil’. It is believed that Vilwamangalam Swamiyar, a great devotee of Lord Krishna visited Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple during the ‘Ezhunnallathu’ and he felt the presence of Lord in the procession. He saw the Lord Unni Kannan playing on the top of all 15 elephants. Vrischikotsavam is a eight day long annual festival of Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple conducted in the month of Vrischikam.
