It was sharp 6.30 p.m. The Brahmana Samooha Madom Hall at Kavumpady, Muvattupuzha was all set to receive the State President V.Ramalingam and his team. A.S.Balasubramania Iyer, the President, Muvattupuzha Brahmana Samooham received the newly elected President with 'Poornakumbham'. Senior member of Upasabha C.P.Narayanaswami chanted the 'veda manthram' as part of the ceremonial welcome.
The occasion was the 'Kudumba Mela 09' - the annual get-together of family members of Muvattupuzha Upasabha on Saturday, the 5th December 2009. The meeting was presided by S. Krishnamurthy, President of Upasabha. In his Inaugural address, V. Ramalingam said as we are strict followers of our culture and life style, we deserve a minority status and all pressures will be put on state government to declare tamil brahmin community as linguistic minority in the state of Kerala.
The State Vice President and Central Zone President P. S. Raman declared, the basic infrastructure for the proposed engineering and management entrance coaching centre at Thripunithura is nearing completion and he invited the office bearers to visit the premises. By the end of January, the works will be completed and inaugurated which will be a proud for the entire brahmin community - he added.

T. N. Krishna Iyer, Vice President of Upasabha welcomed the gathering and vote of thanks was delivered by K. Rama Iyer, Joint Secretary of Muvattupuzha Upasabha.
After the crisp and colourful meeting, the members and their family members came out with sweet melodies and mind blowing dance numbers.
